FAQs

Are you currently accepting new clients?

Yes, I am. From time to time, my schedule will fill up, and you might have to wait a few weeks to get in. However, because of the structured nature of my coaching programs, I regularly have clients completing programs and opening up space in my schedule.

I also have cancellations almost every week, so if you’re in a hurry to be seen, please reach out to be added to my cancellation list.

Do I have to live in Connecticut to work with you?

No, you don’t have to live in Connecticut to work with me. My therapy services are limited to clients located in Connecticut, where I am licensed to practice. If you’re seeking therapy, you must be residing in Connecticut to work with me in that capacity.

However, I do offer career coaching services nationwide, which means you can access my expertise from anywhere in the United States. Whether you’re in California or New York, I’m here to support you.

Feel free to reach out if you have any more questions or schedule a consultation HERE.

How do I know if career therapy is right for me?

Most people who come to me are functioning at well at work. They’re respected, effective, and holding it together. But by the time they get home, they’re shot.

If you’ve tried better boundaries, self-care, or even other therapists, and your exhaustion keeps coming back, there’s probably something deeper going on.

Career therapy looks at the patterns underneath the burnout, the strategies you’ve developed to cope with difficult work environments, and the ways that your workplace is contributing to the problem.

My practice isn’t the right fit if you’re unable to hold a job or need a higher level of care, like inpatient treatment or intensive outpatient programming. If that’s where you are, I’m happy to help you find the right provider. But if you’re functioning fine on the outside and falling apart on the inside, you’re in the right place.

Wha's the difference between career therapy and career coaching?

Career coaching is for people who already know they need a career change and want help figuring out their next direction. I use a comprehensive battery of assessments to examine your strengths, values, interests, and work style, and we will work together to narrow down your options and build a plan. It’s more structured, typically around 5-10 sessions, and focused on supportive decision-making and action planning.

Career therapy goes deeper. If you’re feeling burned out but aren’t sure whether you need to leave your job, change industries, or address ingrained coping strategies that would follow you anywhere, therapy can help you sort that out before you make any expensive moves. We will look at how your nervous system responds to your work environment, why certain situations hit harder than they should, and whether the root of your burnout is your workplace, your internal wiring, or both.

Some people start in therapy and move to coaching once they have a better grasp on all the emotional layers contributing to their situation. Some people only need one or the other. We’ll figure out which makes sense for you during the consultation. I don’t want you to spend time or money solving the wrong problem.

Do you accept insurance?

I am an out-of-network provider for therapy clients who live in Connecticut.

I am a private pay provider for all career coaching clients.

There are many benefits to seeing a private pay provider including:

  • Keeping your personal information private. Insurance companies keep personal and medical records forever. By working with a private pay therapist, you won’t have any personal or medical information relating to our work together attached to your permanent record.
  • Skipping the diagnosis. As a private pay coach, I am not required to formally diagnose you with a mental health problem the way I would have to if I were submitting your information to an insurance company for counseling or therapy.
  • Getting as many sessions as you need. Insurance companies put strict limits on how often you can see a therapist and for how long. With a private pay coach, you get to decide how often you see me and for how long, not your insurance company.
  • Keeping sensitive information away from your employer. When you use insurance, your personal mental health records are accessible to the insurance agency, and there are some industries (law enforcement, politics, etc.) where sensitive mental health information, like that found in insurance records, could potentially harm your career.
  • Receiving more focused care. Private-pay providers tend to see far fewer clients than therapists who are paneled with insurance companies, so they have more time and energy to focus on each client individually.
What professional credentials do you have?

My professional credentials and training include:

  • Master’s Degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling
  • Licensed & Board Certified Therapist
  • National Career Development Association Certified Career Service Provider
  • Certified Trauma Therapist
  • Certified ADHD Career Support Specialist
  • Dialectical Behavioral Therapy Informed Treatment Training
  • Heart Math Clinical Certification for Stress, Anxiety, and Self-Regulation

I imagine what you’re really wondering is whether or not I can help you. And the answer to that question is that I use research-backed, evidence-based practices in my work. I attend regular training to ensure I stay on the cutting-edge of the most effective treatments for the services I list on this site.

I have helped executives and professionals from Google, Amazon, NBC, Big 4 accounting firms, Boston Children’s Hospital, and many other high-pressure environments, I understand the unique challenges facing corporate professionals and working parents.

However, my approach is not going to work for everyone. What’s most important to me is that you find someone who is the right fit for you. We can explore together whether or not I am going to be that person for you.

What else should I know about you?

I’m a mother of four. I’ve worked in dysfunctional organizations and had toxic bosses myself. I’m married to a corporate C-suite executive. I’ve personally experienced different sides of this equation as the burned-out professional, as the partner watching someone navigate impossible workplace dynamics, and as the parent trying to juggle it all.

This work isn’t academic for me. I understand what it’s like to weigh career decisions when you have a mortgage, college tuition, and people depending on your income. I know what it feels like to replay a meeting for three hours after your kids are asleep and wonder whether you’re the problem or if the situation is really as bad as it feels.

That lived experience shapes how I approach this work and why I don’t rush to push quick fixes or surface solutions. I want to make sure we get to the root of your struggles and customize a solution for you so you’re not just white-knuckling your way through the next 20 years.
